In the early 1990's Mazda created the FD body style rx7. This updated version of their flagship sports car came with a twin turbo two rotor engine, which produced about 250-275 horsepower. Though production began in 1991 the car was no longer imported to America after 1995. Because the car came with a Wankel rotary engine standard, very few mechanics specialize in repair of these vehicles. Now, many of these cars have been changed to accommodate a Chevy LS type v8 engine.
